Le Constellation Fire Incident 01/01/26

The 2026 Crans-Montana bar fire was a catastrophic incident that occurred in the early hours of 1 January 2026 at Le Constellation bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana. During New Year’s Eve celebrations, a fire broke out shortly after 01:30, spreading rapidly through the crowded venue. Forty people were killed and at least 119 injured, many seriously. Early findings indicate the blaze may have been triggered by bottles carrying lit sparklers being raised near the ceiling, igniting combustible materials and causing the fire to take hold within seconds. A large-scale emergency response followed, with casualties transferred to hospitals across Switzerland and neighbouring countries, while investigations into fire safety measures and building conditions continue.
