Is there really any need to feed the retail giants by taking part in these events? The majority of retailers now provide online shopping, sit at home and collect your bargains when it suits you.

By joining in all you are doing is providing the shops with free advertising that they have the best sales. Are you really saving that much money?

If you attend these events, you are putting yourself at risk, the shops want the dangerous environments that we have seen on social media, and this is free advertising for them.

Only through a bit of thought and self preservation can we negotiate crowds and events. Through not paying attention we can get ourselves into avoidable situation.
