At least 15 killed in shooting at Jewish festival at Sydney’s Bondi Beach

Two gunmen have attacked a Jewish festival at Sydney’s popular Bondi Beach, killing at least 15 people and wounding dozens, according to Australian authorities.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the “devastating” mass shooting on Sunday, which police are calling a “terrorist” incident, was “a targeted attack on Jewish Australians on the first day of Hanukkah”.

One of the suspected gunmen was also killed. A second gunman was in critical condition and police were investigating whether a third attacker was involved, New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon told a press conference. Two police officers were among 29 people taken to hospital with injuries, he said.
